[ It doesn't seem like Akane wants to visit Mary--she didn't know her very well, and it seems like plenty of other people are more invested. She doesn't really want to intrude on their time.

Buuut she is curious, and seems to just be poking around the general area. When she sees Saix she actually smiles at him in greeting? Weird?? But she liked when people got mad at him today, that was funny. ]

Is she still possessed, in there?

I haven't seen her yet. She's got many visitors.

[ like, honestly, he doesn't think most people would want to see mary, so that's normal. what's abnormal is that akane actually looks happy to see him, wtf. ]

But most likely. It said that it would outlast her, as well.

[ she likes seeing people say the asshole things that she bites back. she also likes watching those people get told off for it. saix is like a two for one. ]

Then what's the point of taking care of her by tomorrow? If the corruption will just move on to someone else, wouldn't it better to just keep it in one person and keep that person locked up?

You would think. This may be the reason we were brought here, to defeat the darkness.

It would be pointless to kill her. But I doubt we will be given much choice in the matter.

[ akane snickers a bit because "defeat the darkness" just sounds so... silly? it's silly to hear it said so earnestly by someone who looks so menacing and serious. ]

Say, then what's the difference between being possessed and obeying Sol and Lune? Either way we're just killing because someone else told us to.

The difference is that people are more likely to believe they are doing good by obeying Sol and Lune.

But we have no proof one way or the other.

It's true that darkness or whatever talks pretty ominous, but... I guess we're just assuming that it's wrong and those two are right?

I want to know more about the corruption.

... But I doubt we'll get anything like that. And there's not much sympathy for monsters, it seems. [ lots of talk of that, this trial. ]

As do I. But it's unlikely we'll get straight answers from our hosts or the Darkness.

I think the bird is pretty cute, but the vampire is funny.

I don't have any strong feelings one way or the other.

I'm among the inhuman rank, if you missed that. So I was expecting something more along those lines.

That would be difficult when we've all had our powers stripped for us. And I doubt anyone wants to reveal what they received from each alignment.

Even though it would make things so much easier if we just knew. If we get possessed into killing, then doesn't it go without saying that we would want everyone else to catch us?

Not telling is just protecting the killer, and that's no good. Even if it winds up being ourselves.

That assumes we'd be in full control of our faculties and memories. Mary could have just as well been powerless against the darkness in her heart.

The others protecting her probably believed it was for the best. I'm sure they'll know better, now.

That's right. There's no point protecting each other when we can't trust our own memories.

There's little we can trust in a situation like this.

First I have to better understand what we're dealing with.

But a heart can fight off darkness.

All hearts have darkness, with few exceptions. They can succumb to it, or overcome it. But it takes a strong heart.... and strong bonds.

So you're saying anyone who gets possessed and kills was just too weak.
