[akane is a cute girl so she might actually mean that instead of just saying it in a snobby way]

[ Akane sways back and forth a bit in her seat... Then realizes. ]

Actually--I guess you could. Since I'm bored, do something interesting.

[ ...... she sounds like she's just kidding, thankfully??? ]

I'm not some performer for you. Go see Nana or Junna for that.

If you're bored, help me look for something.

[ Akane laughs. ] I'm not hungry, though.

[ Given that they are in a kitchen, this probably passes for: I don't want to help you look for something. But really what she's saying is: why would I look for Nana when I'm not hungry?

... Anyway, she stands up. ]

[but lili doesn't know what the fuck anything looks like, she's barely ever been in a kitchen]

Miso paste? Are you going to make soup? [ Akane starts looking around, chatting as she does. ]

It doesn't need to be kept cold unless it's already opened, so it could be anywhere... Usually it comes in clear plastic boxes about this big? [ ... she turns to Lili to gesture with her hands. ]

I see... Mm, I'm still looking.

Someone mentioned it to me, and said it's better than the other soup I made...

Yeah, it's really common where I'm from. And it's tasty. Umm... If you've never had it before, the paste we're looking for is more brown than it is red...

[ Akane doesn't answer that question for a suspiciously long time. She just keeps rummaging around as if she's avoiding it. Then, eventually: ]

Do you know how to make it?

[ Hmm, she puts a finger to her chin. ] --Yeah, that's right. Phones and tablets and TV. Really convenient stuff.

Mm! It sounds very convenient - I would like to get my hands on some of the technology in order to bring it back to my kingdom.

[ Akane goes about gathering the pots and stuff she'll need, then looking for other ingredients. ]

We need tofu, wakame... Do you like mushrooms? How about green onion?

[she'll set about finding mushrooms and green onions at least!!]

How did you learn how to make it?

[specialdog]

Mm, just those. [ Akane retrieves tofu and wakame! Yay! ]

In school we have to take home ec. classes, so they teach us to cook some really basic stuff. Miso soup is really common where I'm from, so it was one of the first things we learned.

You got classes on it?

Ah, I'm jealous. That seems like such a basic thing that'd come in handy...

I always hated it...! They'd make us pair up with people whether we liked them or not, and some groups were always goofing off the whole time.

It's like - there's knives around, you know? Be more careful.

[coastal]

They were being reckless with knives? What a bunch of morons.

Yeah, and with the stove-tops on and stuff, too.

[ Akane may be kind of crazy, but she's also sometimes just a normal girl! :) ]

Will you cut the green onions for us?

[coastal]

Mm, I can.

[she'll move to do that because at least she understands the basic concept of cutting ingredients - they may vary a little in size though]

How did you survive with so many idiots around?

[ Akane does other... Cooking things... It's all equally average and unimpressive, but not terrible.

The honest answer is "I just get rid of the ones I don't like," but... She and Lili have a pretty good rapport so. ]

I just keep my distance. The stupid boys always flock to each other and leave the girls alone, eventually.
