[ Hey, Akane didn't drag her from bed. Akane should know better than to be outside or stretch her legs or whatever she was doing! It's her own fault. ]

Really? I'm so glad!

[ And Akane is tugging her towards the kitchen! ]

she allows herself to be tugged along because this is her life now. ]

[ Luckily, Akane already got the cookbook all set up for them in the kitchen! It actually looks like she had started trying to cook by herself, with half the ingredients and mixing bowls etc already laid out.

So maybe grabbing Namine genuinely wasn't her first choice...? ]

I want to make this!

[ She points to the recipe the book is open to: a chocolate cappuccino cheesecake? Sure, that's a good thing for a total beginner to try making. ]

[ haha, wow, this won't end poorly!

she looks at the recipe, skimming it quickly. she does not think she can do this but akane? probably can?? so it can't go that badly. ]

Okay. We can give it a shot.

[ To start with, Akane starts getting out the rest of the ingredients. Hey, did you know this recipe is made with coffee flavored liqueur? ]

I know that it's kind of starting with something complicated, but it's for a contest, you know? I want to make something really good.

When's the deadline?

[ she is guessing this isn't the final product and will just be a test run of it?

Sometime early next week. We'll probably all need a pick-me-up after whatever happens. If this week was anything to go by, we're real bad at the trial things.

[ Akane combines a bunch of the ingredients in a mixing bowl, then nods Namine towards it. ]

Can you mix that for me?

Of course.

[ as long as akane does not ask her to carry something super heavy by herself it's fine because that would just probably reopen some wounds but

Minato-kun! We're learning to cook together. But... Separate!

[ While Namine works on that, Akane is just getting all the other things that need to be mixed ready in other bowls and, like... Lining them up on the counter for Namine to do next.

When the contest is over, will you start doing it together then?

Oh, that could be fun!

[ The truth is she's thinking: if Minato learns to actually cook, she'll just? rely on him for it and not have to do it herself?? But if he's still a disaster maybe she can help him and then it'll be less effort and less of a disaster than having to cook for herself by herself. ]

Friends do things like that together, so it'll be a nice way for you to make memories.

Do they? I've never cooked with a friend before.

What have you tried making so far on your own?

Mostly simple stuff... Stew and curry are both really easy, so I started with that kind of thing.

What's your favorite kind of food?

I'm not picky. I like stuff with strong flavors, though, whether it's sweet or savory.

What about you?

I'm the same.

But sweet stuff is really good. I've been trying a lot of different things here.

Really? I feel like I get less variety here since I can't just go to a restaurant or order delivery.

Do you not usually branch out much?

No, it's just that where I was before, I didn't really have access to a variety... but now I do.
