[ there's someone looking for akane, wherever she is. ]

[ Akane is being a neet in her house--the door is unlocked and probably cracked open. She'd not even playing on her phone or lounging around comfortably this time, she's just sitting up against the wall and staring into space.

She doesn't have her boxcutter anymore, so she can't even do art, but this is fine. ]

[whitewalls]

[ ... ah.

she just watches her for a moment, but when akane doesn't move, naminé just lightly knocks against the doorframe to let her know that someone's here. ]

You can come in.

[ She won't be a good host, though. ]

[ that's fine, she wasn't expecting her to be.

but she'll quietly walk in, closing the door behind her. ]

[ Akane has her knees pulled up to her chest and watches Namine from behind her crossed arms. ]

[ she doesn't think akane is probably going to go out to get like, food or anything ]

[ Correct... But Akane ignores the answer to the question she asked in the first place. ]

Hey, Namine. You were friends with Minato-kun, right?

[ she blinks, then nods. ]

Yeah, we were.

[ it's nice to be able to say best friend considering she keeps making the effort to make sure people don't think she's best friends with axel and xion. ]

... he promised me something that meant a lot to me. And I think that no matter how many times I verbally told him that I appreciated it, he didn't completely believe me.

So I just went with a gesture that I know people use to show affection. Like how a friend might kiss their friend's cheek, or a mother might kiss their baby's head. Although he probably didn't even get it.

[ Whether or not she believes Namine on that latter part is up for debate, but the first part at least sounds right. ]

[ Softly: ] I'm sure he believed you. What was the promise?

That week when he had amnesia, he said that he wouldn't forget me.

The last person who told me that ended up forgetting. So it meant a lot to me that Minato didn't, when his memory came back.

[ More of the memory manipulation stuff...? Akane really doesn't get all that, but... ]

But when someone tells you something and it's the first time you felt like it was actually real, it still stands out, right?

It was always easy to believe that he meant the things he was saying and take them to heart.

[ she thinks back to what cinnabar had said, when akane pointed out that she lost her boyfriend.
