The burner stays off, though, because they need the onions to be ready - so when he finally turns to Akane to see her Like That, he rolls his eyes and slides the cutting board over to his side of the counter, pulling out another knife to do the slicing himself. She won't make much of a cook if she lets a few onions get the better of her. ]
[ It's.... not a perfect solution, but it works, for the most part. Anyway he'll finish slicing the onions himself because it's just faster that way, and leave them there while he goes to turn on the stove. ]
[ She's still being very obnoxious about it with lots of whimpering and whining, but at least it seems to just be because she has no self control and not purposefully trying to annoy him?
[ He's just going to try to ignore the sniffling, as long as Akane's hands stay clean. they've got to wait for the butter to melt, though, so until then, he sets the wine and broth in front of her with the simple order: ]

[ The only answer she'll get to that is a roll of his eyes as Kara adds the onions to the pot. You could learn perfectly well from a book, if you tried. ]
It's only worth trying if you actually want to learn.
[ Kara actually isn't mad at her for that, but he's questioning whether she really wants to learn, or if it's just some kind of game to her.
...And yeah, he is a little annoyed at being forced into it, but. Frankly it's amazing he's gone this long without a lot of people forcing him to go along with their ideas. ]
Learning how to cook will still feed someone who didn't really want to learn, right?
[ Although in fairness to him, that same logic of hers does not carry over well to learning swords??? And also he's correct in assuming she's not very passionate about this. But! She does want to learn! ]
