Yes. These trials are difficult when we don't have the whole picture and we're split between two different cases.

Plus Lune-san said a lot of people were still keeping secrets at the end. And no one really came forward with anything shocking--we just happened to get a good hint.

So I wonder what the secrets are.

There are still two killers who went after Kazuaki. We caught neither of them. Presumably they were in full control of their actions.

So... which two people have reasons to kill without being corrupted?

That clown guy is still suspicious, but it's not like I have hard evidence... And I can't think of anyone here who acts like they'd want to work with him.

[ aggressively ignores that Minato gets along with Hisoka. he was cleared!!! it's fine!!! ]

It seemed like Kinjou-san and Four were still a little suspicious in the end, but I can't see why they would target Kazuaki-kun. Especially not when they were fighting about it in public and blaming each other like that.

Lea's partner? I believe the evidence against him was the scratches on him matched Kazuaki's claws.

[Vall will just say it.]

Minato seems quite fond of him. [But he'll also just move right on.] But I can't think of anyone Minato doesn't get along with at the moment.

Perhaps somebody used a power on them? It wouldn't have counted as a power usage connected to the bodies.

Minato-kun has bad taste.

[ So sayeth his girlfriend, cheerfully. ]

And even if someone had a power used on them, they wouldn't forget what had happened, right? So wouldn't they have come forward to blame the real culprit?

[Ah, youth. Val's not going to touch that one because honestly? Big agree. Also more pressing matters.]

They shouldn't have forgotten. I don't believe there are any powers that allow memory manipulation. However, Earth does have a power that forces people to stay quiet about any secret.

How big do you think the loopholes are on something like that? Like how Sol and Lune-san aren't supposed to be able to tell us stuff, but they can talk around it sometimes.

Do you think it prevents them from even saying, "There's something I can't tell anyone," or, like... Pointing a bunch?

The power specifically says "Victims of this ability will not be able to share the secret selected by the user at all costs." The universe just makes things more difficult for Sol and Lune. But I don't think they'd die if they share things.

Ahh, so not really any loopholes at all, huh?

I wonder who else has that power...?

Else? Do you know somebody with it?

[He doesn't even have the grace to look confused or point out the awkward pause.

Nodding his head along, he doesn't believe she'd lie, so clearly she's telling the truth.]

I don't know the Earth aligned people nor their powers.

[ She just misspoke! Obviously!!! I would die for you Valvatorez. I mean not really. I'd let someone else die for you, though. ]

That's too bad... I feel like it would be such a big help if we knew more powers...

Who's do you know?

[ she asks, super casually, like that's not a big question to ask in a place like this. ]

I only know my own power. I know Kaoru, Milla, Lea, Minato, Ookurikara and myself are fire aligned.

[He had no reason to ask, so he just hasn't.]

Ohh, that helps! But knowing their actual powers would be even more helpful during trials, don't you think?

I wonder if we could try and figure out more people's.

It's likely it'll come up again at trial.

No fires have died or killed yet, so it seems increasingly likely something will happen. Though I do think there were two usages of the power I hold.

Statistically, it's gotta happen sooner or later. It would be good to be prepared and ready.

I bet you have totally different friends than me who would be willing to tell you their powers! And you should definitely learn your own partner's, just to be safe, and to be able to protect them, right?

That does seem like a good idea. I don't know how much they'd be willing to share with me. But I'll certainly try.

[Because Val is generally likable, but also doesn't try particularly hard to win people's trust either.]

[ She looks very downcast as she "admits" ]

A lot of people here don't like me, or don't trust me. Or they get mad when I try to help out during trials. So it can be hard for me to find out the information we need to help everyone.

So... I appreciate it, Valvatorez-san.

I can't imagine why. You're pleasant company.

[Even if she might end up as a prinny one day. That doesn't have anything to do with Val.]

But if you're having trouble getting information, I will assist you.

First, who's powers do you already know?

Ehh, um... Let's see... I knew some of the ones you mentioned.

Four is with earth. Kazuaki-kun told me he was air, like me... Before...

[ oh no, she's just so sad about Kazuaki... It's too hard to continue... ]

[A pat to her shoulder. It's probably the first time he's actually reached out to touch her at all.]

Yes. My condolences that you've lost a close friend.

[ Surprisingly, given her track record, she's pretty fine with it. ]

... I could have kept him safe if I'd just stayed home.
